Sally first laid eyes on the woman of her dreams (can you tell Natalie has control of this bit!) when Natalie returned to university for her Masters degree back in 2015. They both played football and as Natalie rejoined the university womens team they kicked off a really nice friendship.
Many an evening was spent in each other’s company through footy training, football social night out and a Harry Potter marathon. Things took a step further (literally) when they were on a night out in the local nightclub with the football team. It was a Beyoncé tribute night and Sally was showing off her best Single Ladies dance moves on a podium at the other end of the dance floor in a bid to woo Natalie. This didn’t work so she accidentally took a step backwards and proceeded to fall off the stage into the abyss…this is the moment Natalie knew Sally was the one!
Fast forward 4 years, finished uni, new jobs, and one big mortgage debt later, Natalie decided to make things official. On a previous trip in 2017 to New York with Sally, Karin and Jonny, Natalie had decided that the Rockefeller Centre would be the perfect spot to ask Sally to marry her one day and kept that nugget in her back pocket. With half of the family in on her secret she took Sally to New York City and fulfilled her intention of presenting Sally with a rock on Top of the Rock. Thankfully she said YES!
